Long before ‘hipster’ became passé or a dirty word for anyone with a beard, flannel shirt or owning a back to basics handcrafted business. There was one man, Ned Kelly, avid beard aficionado, poet, train spotter, horse wrangler, wrought iron expert and founder of the ‘hipster movement’. Who stood up to his persecutors and said ‘Circumstances have forced us to become what we are—outcasts and outlaws—and bad as we are, we are not so bad as we are supposed to be’. Right on Ned, we salute you.
